The End is NEAR!!

Well, the house is SUPPOSED to be done by the end of this week (Friday or Saturday). We have tentatively set closing for August 3rd (the following Friday) so that last minute fixes or inspections can be taken care of. We also have to make sure that our mortgage is set. So hopefully next weekend we will start moving in. Here are the pics I took last weekend...only a couple of the kitchen with the counters and one of the bathrooms upstairs. Still looks to have a long way to go from these pictures, but evidently they can finish a house within days of cabinets/counters being installed. We are so ready!

Bud's idea of babysitting

I left Nate with Bud while he was sitting at the table going over some bills and things, I went upstairs for something only to come downstairs to find Bud's idea of "watching" the baby. No he really didn't put Nate in there with Riley, Nate did it all on his own! Poor Riley was actually trying to get away from the kid who bugs him constantly. He typically isn't real keen on going inside that cage!

This is the back of the house...there hasn't been too many pictures taken from this angle!

Cabinets are in....as are closet doors, the banister and spindles upstairs and the trim around the floors, doors and moldings! The other doors are painted and should be hung this week. That just leaves counters, painting of walls, carpet and finishing off of plumbing and electrical. Still hoping it will be before the 31st, but even once work is done, we have to wait for inspections and mortgage junk-so who knows? Still recruiting assistance in the moving department. Bud and I are moving what we can (which isn't much for me), but Bud could use a hand with some heavy stuff. Dinner on me for anyone who volunteers!

Getting there.....

The house this week is looking more like a home. We've got siding, a driveway, porch and sidewalk! The tile is done on the inside and the kitchen and bathroom cabinets have been delivered and will go in this week. All the doors and interior trim is waiting to be installed and will likely go in this week too. Shouldn't be too much longer now!

Birthday Girl

I was so excited about finally closing on our house that I forgot to post some pictures from Jillian's birthday. She had a great day. Thanks to all who joined us!
