CRAP! Why can't I sell my house???

We are at a loss (as is our realtor)...our house is priced below market value ---$15,000 less than the tri-level for sale down the street (which has them quite PISSED!) and not so much as a look. The only people who even inquired are the neighbors who yelled at the realty that they must have screwed up our listing because there was no way it could be priced in this way...No really...WE WANT OUT!!! We are refusing to give the builder the extra $10,000 and so we are chancing that we sell ours before someone else tries to make off with the house we want! Even our realtor and a broker who checked it out is amazed that we haven't had so much as a showing....I don't typically buy into those superstitions and such, but the statue of St. Joseph buried in the front yard is starting to sound like a good idea right now! Anyway, we continue to snap pictures of the new place even if there is a chance we may lose it...Here's what they finished this week....They sure can build them fast, huh? (especially when you kinda don't want them to!)...pass the word, there's a nice home with tons of updates available in Wonderful Woodhaven...right behind a "A" school....WOW! :-) I'll even post pics here...if anyone knows of someone interested....

I would love for you to drop me a line or just say hi....I'd hate to think the only one that looks at this is me! (though I do find it somewhat therapeutic) You shouldn't need to register if you comment as an "other" (hey....like LOST) or even anonymously and put your name in the comment. Watch out Duke Boys!

Bud has had few true friends most of his life and Greg and Chad are them. It was so cute to see how excited these guys were that we all had little boys within months of one another. They joke about our boys playing Dukes of Hazzard like they did as kids (did I mention that Chad had to play Daisy every once in awhile?)....So, when we went to the celebration of Grant's (Greg's little one) first birthday, I just HAD to snap a few pictures (who me? take pictures? NO WAY) Of course, it was not easy to get the three to cooperate, but I tried!

The Latest on the House Stuff

Well, here is where everything is at the moment. The builder counter-offered us by another $10,000. He is worried about us selling our house....SO, as crazy as this may be, we dropped the price of our house. It is a long story how it came about, but it makes sense once you hear it. At any rate, we are hoping to sell quick and come back to the builder to get the deal. Basically, we found out that the house that is being built has much more than the standard plans. For starters, it has a larger lot, larger garage, and a larger master suite. It is supposedly appraised (or will be) about $300,000. Trust me we will not be paying anywhere near that amount (if we get it). SOOOO, we thought that we would be smarter to lose a few grand selling our current house in order to greatly profit on the new. Makes sense??? GOD, I hope so! So we are still just waiting to see what happens. We did snap a few more pictures...this is what they finished in 5 days....man, they sure can build them fast, can't they?

Our "Dream" Home

We have officially listed our house for sale, and put in a offer on a new home in Brownstown in Cambridge Meadows subdivision. It is scary and exciting all at the same time. The house we are bidding on is nothing more than a basement and so we would be able to pick out the brick, and siding and roof color as well as everything on the inside. It was just chance that the very home we desired was in the planning stages by the builder. Their realtor gave our realtor the info knowing that we were looking for something very specific and that this happened to be it! The house is supposed to be framed this week. We took pics of the basement and hope to take pictures as the whole thing progresses. We put our official offer in, but have not yet heard whether it has been accepted. Everything may be a bit premature at this point, but we are hopeful. Now we need to get the one we're in sold!!!! Spread the word! Also pictured here is another house currently under construction that is exactly like what we would be building. It gives you the idea of what we are looking at anyway...(even the same brick...though it is hard to tell, it was getting late when we took these pictures!)

Jillian's New "Do"

Oh yeah....a few weeks before Jillian started school, we took her for a new hairdo. The poor dear has hair like mine and is a bit unruly...it turned out quite cute...here are her before and after pics....We also took her to get her ears pierced....She did great. Not even a flinch. In fact the girl who did them screwed up and we had to take her back after a few days to repierce one of them. The girl did one way higher than the other...I was ticked, but Jillian said "Mom, it didn't hurt. I just had to stiffen up alittle"...She is just getting tooo big!

It's been awhile...I know

Jillian's First Day of Kindergarten

Yep....it's happened. My dearest Jillian is officially in school. She is so fortunate to have a wonderful teacher (Mrs. Hutchison) who also is a friend of mine! So far, her class is a nice size of 16 kids...another bonus! She is loving every minute of it. She is even so priviledged as to have her own personal safety to escort her from her classroom to mine at the end of each school day. I am already seeing that shy little girl start to come out of her shell. I just can't believe that I am old enough to have a school aged child. Well, at least Jenna has 3 years to still be a baby (though not if she has anything to say about it) and Nathan will always be my baby.
