X-Mas Pics coming soon

Hi all

I'll be posting pics soon. Right after having the Snyder family here for Christmas, I set to work on tearing down all the decorations (yep-waste no time!) Anyway, went to bed that night only to wake with a viscious bug. I was stuck in bed until Friday, only got up if absolutely necessary (to refill my vernors-which kept me alive, since I had no other nourishment(unless you count my countless extra pounds on my bones which should keep me going awhile).....I did get up to put Nate to bed and go to the bathroom. Jill (bless her heart) made the kids toaster waffles for dinner with fruit cups and juice boxes. Nolan layed on the sofa bed with me and nursed when needed. Bud had to work, so what could we do? Then of course, as I was getting better, Jen and Nate came down with it on Saturday. Bud and Jill got nailed on Sunday night.....I am praying that Nolan stays strong, but I already put a call into the pediatrician to go over what I do. Never had a newbie with flu.....the youngest was Nate when he was one. Anyway, I sat down today long enough to check my email and post this....I've been cleaning bedding and towels and clothes from 5 very sick people...hopefully Bud and Jill will be fine by tomorrow and I'll wash what they're laying in....oh what fun, it is to spend a vacation with hopes and aspirations doing nothing but cooking (Christmas), cleaning (after Christmas), sick (after Christmas) and cleaning some more (after sickness)..... stay posted

Cookie Time!

Lovin' the Snow!

Those 9+ inches of snow were just too inviting for us Snyders. As soon as we finished decorating our Christmas cookies, we were all out in the snow! The kids had a blast, getting stuck and falling in the drifts in our backyard that were almost 2 feet deep. The best part of all (to me anyway----snow day--NO SCHOOL) Whoo, hoo!!! LET IT SNOW!!!

Nolan's babbling

I've been wanting to try videos on my blog, so I tried to catch Nolan's babble. He has recently discovered his voice and will sit and sass me if I talk to him or if I stick his feet in his mouth.

Spelling Practice?????

Trying to spice up the boring practice of spelling words (yes--I admit spelling is boring--just because I'm a teacher, it doesn't mean I love all aspects of school) Anyway, I had Jill practice in shaving cream on the kitchen table. Of course that meant Jenna and Nathan had to have a "hand" in it too. So after Jillian "wrote" her list words a few times, I allowed the kids to play for a bit. Hey, it cleaned up the kids and the table too!

Way to Go Nate!

Yes, Nate actually used the potty! Two times now!!! One time was hilarious because my dearest Jenna insists on watching the boys get their diapers changed (a bit fascinated with the boy parts, I think)....ANYWAY---Nate started to pee and it shot Jenna! She was mortified, but I laughed myself silly! I'll be heartbroken if Nate actually trains before Jenna. Of course, I'll be thrilled to have one less kid in diapers!

3 months old

Hard to believe, my little Nolan is 3 months old already....he is by far one of the sweetest babies I had. All my kids were pretty good, but this one is just happy all the time. I'm sure I'll be in trouble soon enough. Now if I could just get him to sleep through the night!
