One Month--already!

It is hard to believe that it has already been a month since I delivered Nolan (actually 5 weeks!). He is a very sweet baby. Since I last blogged, he had a visit with his pediatrician. His two week check found him healthy, and almost a pound heavier than when he left the hospital. Typically they like babies to be at their birth weight at 2 weeks since they almost always lose some weight first. He eats very well! He took to breastfeeding better than any of the others. The doctor was a bit concerned about his inability to track an object with his eyes (or his unwillingness). so that is something we will watch and if needed have his eyes checked. He also had a follow up with the cardiologist. He did another EKG and an ultrasound and found his heart to be perfect, in fact his heartrate has even returned to normal. What more can I share? He isn't sleeping wonderfully yet, waking every 2-3 hours though he has given me a few nights with 5 straight hours...hopefully he straightens that up before I return to work! He has a blocked tear duct which all my kids except Nate had at some point in their first month or two and he also has terrible baby acne. It is just now starting to get a bit better. He is also starting to smile a bit. It is funny since he as such a large mouth with prominent gums. Other than that, we are all adjusting. I am starting to feel better (other than being sleep deprived). Well, Nolan beckons--gotta go!
